Hello again, true believers.  There is something rotten on the internets.  Yes.  Something stinks to high heaven and for once it's not me.

Usually, the only place I can turn to for any solace whatsoever, to escape the endless pain and misery which is my everyday life, IS The Internets.  But now I can not even count on that anymore.  I signed onto the internets the other day and felt like I had taken a wrong turn into a bad neighborhood where I was not welcome at all.

And who is behind this but none other than the cool and beautiful people.  THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE INTERNETS TO BEGIN WITH BECAUSE THEY HAVE LIVES!

Now,  I thought the writers of Adventure Time were just poking fun at this particular character in this scene, but apparently there is an underlying deep meaning that I missed.  It appears some people think that Adventure Time is waging a secret subliminal propaganda campaign against not only "nice guys", but they also have dragged the "bronies" into this.  (I would especially like to hear what Mark of http://theramblingperson.com has to say about THAT!)


But it's not just happening on tumblr and the Cartoon Network,  but there is also a growing anti-"nice guy" movement at youtube.  Just watch this video by this whathisface vloggerr guy the1janitor  You're Probably Not Really a Nice Guy...or don't waste your time watching it, if you have better things to do, because I will just tell you about it...

The1janitor posted this video some time ago actually, but since then it has gone viral, and has spread all over the internets like the bubonic plague.  It's a somewhat rambling commentary, but basically the gist of the1janitor's argument is that "nice guys" are only "nice" because they are filled with insecurity and self-doubt, and they are trying to bribe people to be nice back to them through their kind acts because that is the only hope their lame asses have of ever getting any friends.  So, they are not really "nice guys", they are a$$holes...  according to him.

But you know what really grinds my gears?   Not only do these cool folks have to to take a dump on "nice guys" (who always finish last anyway),  but they have to actually go through the trouble of turning it into an actual movement, creating videos and gifs, and spreading them around and making them go viral all across the interwebs.  I mean, seriously, do these people have nothing better to do with their damn time??  I mean COME ON!!

I tell ya what...   this really rustles my jimmies like they haven't been rustled in awhile.

Okay, enough about nice guys, let's talk about grumpy old men.  (If that wasn't a perfect segue I don't know what is.)

It's a long story, but somehow I stumbled upon an interview with legendary actor Klaus Kinski (who starred in the classic motion picture AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD).  So if you are a "nice guy" and want to learn how to stop doing that before you get rounded up and thrown in a concentration camp by this new movement, then you can see a perfect display of not being a nice guy in this video here:  Klaus Kinski Interview and Tantrum in the Park.

"American Hustle" Inspires Me to Start the FREE BLAGOJEVICH Movement... ALSO Michael Cera and His Magical Cactus, AND Charlie Brown in 3D

Welcome back true believers.   It's time for another exciting, action packed episode at JimmyFungus.com.  And well... you're probably not wondering what I've been doing lately, but I'm going to tell you anyway.

One of my favorite things I used to do was sit on my butt and watch moooovies.  But, recently I have had real difficulty finding any decent movies to watch.  Maybe it was because of my melancholia, but every film I watched seemed to stink to high heaven.  This is why I am excited to report that I have had the pleasure, since we last met, of viewing some pretty fine motion pictures. 


I finally rented "American Hustle" with Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence.  I was expecting it to be the tale of a heroic, straight shootin' FBI guy battling corruption (for some reason I was expecting that).  This is not exactly a spoiler, but it turned out that the some of the so-called crooks were really the heroes of the story.

One of the key characters, Carmine Polito,  bore a strong resemblance to disgraced Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.  How  ironic that the release of "American Hustle" on DVD would coincide with Blago's one year anniversary in prison.  All of these factors produced the environmental conditions to inspire my brain to think of starting the FREE BLAGOJEVICH movement.  That and the fact I really couldn't think of anything else to write about this week...

I was even inspired to put together this crappy FREE BLAGOJEVICH meme/artwork/thingy (whatever the hell you want to call it).  The Fungus Army may not have enough power to get the Governor out of jail any time soon....    BUT,  I think if we are are persistent and keep pluggin' away bit by bit, we can get Rod released in 10 or 15 years.  That's when his sentence expires anyhow, but it's the thought that counts.

Now, let us switch gears to talking about Michael Cera and a magical cactus.  (Btw, it took me like 45 minutes to make this Michael Cera cactus gif, so I hope some of you appreciate it.)  I also had the good luck of stumbling into this delightful film "Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus", so grab the nearest cactus and RUN, don't walk to your local video store.

And briefly, I would like to also mention that I am in the middle of watching the 2009 film "Mr. Nobody" starring Jared Leto.  It tells the story of a boy who must make an agonizing split-second decision at a train station of whether to go live with his mother, or stay with his father.  But it also dives into issues such as the origin of the universe and the meaning of life, and discusses the Big Bang theory, string theory, the Big Crunch...  So, if you want to learn more about any of that interesting stuff, I highly recommend it.

And last, but certainly not least, it was brought to my attention at twitter by "livefastbealina"  (go follow her at https://twitter.com/livefastbealina)  that the Charlie Brown "Peanuts" movie in 3D will be coming out in 2015.  You can not build a time machine and go to 2015 to watch it (most likely),  but you can indeed watch the teaser/trailer down below:

You see...  as always...  there are many factors involved in such a thing.  My prolonged absence was brought about, partly by a combination of an inexplicable and debilitating bout of melancholia...
