Darth Vader Goes to Disneyland

Yoda dancing gif
A lot of people were not exactly jumping for joy when they heard that George Lucas had sold Lucasfilm Ltd. to Disney.  Many diehard fans fear that Disney might ruin the Star Wars franchise which is so near and dear to their hearts.  If you ask me, that had ALREADY been done...  BY THE LAST THREE MOVIES!!  No, no...  I'm just kidding.  I love Star Wars and all the movies.

But seriously folks,  if that news did not warm the cockles of your heart, perhaps this will...

George Lucas will be donating most of the money he made to charity, with a focus on educational issues,  (SEE:  George Lucas Will Use Disney $4 Billion to Fund Education) which is certainly a very noble gesture on George's part, to put it mildly.  Not to mention he is setting a good example for the other one percenters out there.  So good for him.

And well kids, it seems that there is someone else who is not having any misgivings about Disney taking over the Star Wars saga...

Darth Vader at Disneyland

That's right. Darth Vader has already been spotted at Disneyland. Check out the video below...

Well, true believers. That ends our fantastic voyage through the internets for today.

I Gotta Be Me... Hit Or Miss: The Justin Bieber beating video revisited, Julian Assange update, and More (This blog post took over 9000 Rustlewatts to produce!)

I Gotta Be Jimmy Fungus...Hit or Miss

Mark the Rambling Person at http://www.theramblingperson.com/ in his post My Life; The Trilogy came up with a good idea to help spread his message of peace and love to all corners of the intertubes.  What you are supposed to do is pick three songs. One that represents how you felt about yourself in the past, one that represents how you feel about yourself in the present, and one that represents how you hope to feel about yourself in the future.  Everyone on earth is supposed to do it, and then pass it along.

So I picked a song, that pretty much runs the full gamut.  The song is "Hit or Miss" by Odetta, and it encapsulates the attitude towards life that I should have had in the past...but I am adopting it right now, from this moment on...as kind of a personal theme song, to give me some inspiration to hopefully make something of what is left of my sorry life.  Coincidentally, the song is also used in this nifty "Southern Comfort" commercial which takes place on the beach:

Southern Comfort beach commercial gif

I personally do not drink, but the dude in this commercial certainly has his Cool Moves down pat, doesn't he?  I am not a supporter of alcoholism, but I certainly am a supporter of Cool Moves.

So, let's awkwardly segue our way into our next segment.   Now for something completely different...

The Justin Bieber beating video Revisisted

A few of my readers (not mentioning any names, but some of their initials are Bookish.Spazz and Mark the Rambling Person)  seemed to get quite a kick out of seeing Justin Bieber get beaten up in his latest video (though they didn't watch the video, they watched a gif I made instead).  SEE:  Justin Bieber Gets Beaten Up (badly), BUT FIRST A Brief Update (on all things JimmyFungus.com related), AND THEN My Second "Most Controversial Post" Post Causes a Furor (but that inspires my first youtube video ever!), and ALSO Insanely Brilliant Quotes with Fran Lebowitz   Then I listened to kbbuddingwriter's latest podcast at http://karanbattu.blogspot.com in which he argues that they should start having students play intense video games in school, which would help the student body work some of their anger, and raw angst out of their system.  This, kbbuddingwriter argues, would help decrease the violent outbursts at school, which are sadly becoming more and more commonplace.

Then I had an epiphany.  After listening to kbbuddingwriter's podcast, I said to myself, "Now I know what I must do!"  I must make a new youtube video.  I must help protect Justin Bieber from some of the ill feeling towards him out there in the general population.  I will make an exciting video of the "savage beating" that Michael Madsen administered to the Biebs, in Bieber's latest music video "As Long as You Love Me" so that those who do not like Justin so much, will work out their issues with him constructively, in the youtube world of fantasy.  So...without further ado...here is the third youtube video I have ever made entitled
Justin Bieber Beaten Up (Bieber gets 39 lashes from Michael Madsen in "As Long as You Love Me").

Now, for some REAL news...

Julian Assange Update

JimmyFungus.com brings you the REALLY important news stories,  because the corporate run media has better things to talk about.

Ecuador's president Rafael Correa granted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's request for asylum earlier this week, which would keep Assange out of the slammer, as well as giving him a safe haven to continue his work.  There is one snag, however.  Assange has to somehow get himself to Ecuador to begin with.  SEE:  Julian Assange: UK 'threat' to arrest Wikileaks founder.

The plot thickens...

"Hail Satan!" FACE OFF!: Fulfilling a Promise I Made to a Gorilla

Yoda lightsaber gif (via goforcechokeyourself.tumblr)

If George Lucas taught me anything when I was a kid through the subliminal messages in his movies, it was to always keep my promises to my friends.  So now in this edition of JimmyFungus.com I will do just that.  In this post I follow through on a promise I made to Gorilla Bannanas at http://japingape.blogspot.com.

Gorilla Bananas left this comment after my post My Personal Collection of "Hail Satan!" Memes (this is my second "most controversial post" post), but FIRST...Carly Rae Jepsen vs. Liam Neeson,...and ALSO: Song of the Day

Here is the video, and the part Gorilla Bananas is talking about goes down about the 40 second mark...

Then in my blog article entitled Justin Bieber Gets Beaten Up (badly), BUT FIRST A Brief Update (on all things JimmyFungus.com related), AND THEN My Second "Most Controversial Post" Post Causes a Furor (but that inspires my first youtube video ever!), and ALSO Insanely Brilliant Quotes with Fran Lebowitz,... PLUS Song of the Day I posted this video, a compilation of the brilliant Lord Picklejar's greatest "Hail Satan!" moments (and it also happens to be the first youtube video I have ever created)...

In the comments section, Gorilla Bananas wrote the following:

And I did sorta promise that we were going to have a vote.  So, guess what?  A vote is exactly what we are going to have!  Though I am blogging a lot lately, and putting a lot of pressure on my regular commenters.  Hopefully, someone will come by and vote besides me, because if I had the only vote that wouldn't really be fair (that's the way they do things in Soviet Russia).  Hopefully Gorilla Bananas will come by too and vote to (but that would leave the voting in a tie).  So, I will leave the voting open for awhile (how about until January 6, 2017?)  so we get enough votes to have a decent "Hail Satan!" Face Off.

So in this corner we have...

Lord Picklejar

If you liked Lord Picklejar's "Hail Satan!"'s better, type "Thumbs up!"

Chloe Moretz thumbs up gif

If you didn't like the Lord Picklejar video type "No"

Boxxy "No" gif

And in this corner we have...

This Guy

this guy

If you liked this guy's "Hail Satan!" better type "EPIC WIN!"

EPIC WIN baby

Or if you didn't like his "Hail Satan!" type "GTFO!"

brand newly invented by me Bill Nye GTFO! meme

Ok, then. That shouldn't be too complicated. Once again, thank you, and please remember to support your local zoo.

Bob Dylan and Tommy Gnosis on Destiny (Mysteries of the Universe Unraveled!)

Well, apparently my friend Dustin the Republican is not the only one who doesn't know who the hell Bob Dylan is. "(Associated Press) Rock legend Bob Dylan was treated like a complete unknown by police in a New Jersey shore community when a resident called to report someone wandering around the neighborhood." (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/14/bob-dylan-stopped-by-cops_n_260192.html ) Bob Dylan, who was named by Time magazine as one of the most influential people of the 20th century, is apparently not a household name with some of these young whipper-snappers. Good grief, what a failure of our American educational system. But I digress...

When we need words of wisdom who do we turn to? Well, Jesus is a very busy man, so you can try to get in touch with him (good luck!) if you like, but I don't know if that is happening. The next person you would turn to for wisdom, I guess is Yoda, but he's a muppet, so I don't know if that's really a good idea. And there is also Dr. Phil, but he will probably just yell at you. However, someone who you CAN turn to is the greatest American songwriter now living Bob Dylan. Here, are some DEEP THOUGHTS from Bob Dylan in a 60 minutes interview:

(posted by ponderabout at youtube)
Bob Dylan's thoughts on a little thing the kids are calling "destiny." Bob Dylan:
"It’s a feeling you have that you know something about yourself nobody else does. The picture you have in your mind of what you're about will come true. It’s kind of a thing you kind of have to keep to your own self because it’s a fragile feeling and you put it out there somebody will kill it and so it's best to keep that all inside."

The film "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" directed by John Cameron Mitchell, also does a good job of wrestling with the question of "what is destiny?" but Tommy Gnosis seems to have a different take than Bob Dylan on the existence of this "destiny" business. Is there really a some sort of divine purpose behind all the trials and tribulations we go through in life, or is it just a cosmic crap shoot?
( posted by Wayne0626 at youtube)

"you think that luck has left you there/ but maybe there's nothing up in the sky, but air/ there's no mystical design/ no cosmic lover pre-assigned/ there's nothing you can find, that cannot be found"...from the song "Wicked Little Town" (Tommy Gnosis version)

Well, there you have it folks. Everything you wanted to know about destiny but were afraid to ask. Yet another mystery of the universe unraveled here at http://jimmyfungus.com. Once again, God bless you and thank you for your support.

Political Star Trek 1: The Search For Obama's Running Mate

Will Hillary be Barack Obama's running mate? "The Audacity of Nope."

Being that having Hillary Clinton as your running mate in a presidential race would be sort of like sharing a ticket with Lucy from Peanuts, I am guessing that this will not happen. So what are the traits and characteristics of a proper running mate for Barack Obama, that will help balance out the ticket?

What is needed is someone to counterbalance Obama's youth and supposed inexperience, to assuage the doubts of the American people. A wise elder, a learned master like Yoda, who can educate young Barack in the ways of "the force." Please see the accompanying film found at youtube, "The Empire Strikes Barack":

Al GoreBut not only must this Vice Presidential pick have the qualities of wisdom and experience, but must be someone who has the unwavering admiration of the American people. Somebody who understands the complexities and intricacies of issues like global warming, and the geopolitical ramifications of all United States policies on such important matters. Al Gore has already occupied the office of vice president, but perhaps a younger, fresher, more handsome version of Al Gore. Perhaps someone like Daxflame (aka Bernice Juach, aka Madison Patrello). Please view the related clip below concerning the response of humanity to the urgent issue of climate change:

This is a choice which can not be taken lightly, as the selection of a Vice Presidential running mate is one of the key decisions a candidate will make, and is a great indicator of not only a presidential candidate's political judgment, but their ability to size up someone's character, ability, and quality of leadership, which will be so crucial in helping our nation to get back on track. Please stay tuned to this blog for the second installment in this series...
