Anyway, I wanted to say that today's post is officially dedicated to Mark the rambling person of http://theramblingperson.blogspot.com who seems to be suffering from a bit of melancholia of late. We all hope you start feeling better real soon, because quite frankly...we dig what you do.
Now on with our story...
In my vast travels across the internets I came across a website called “If I ever opened a trampoline store, I don't think I'd call it Trampo-Land, because you might think it was a store for tramps, which is not the impression we are trying to convey with our store. On the other hand, we would not prohibit tramps from browsing, or testing the trampolines, unless a tramp's gyrations seemed to be getting out of control".com.
Just kidding. It's called http://freebieber.org. It's all about internet censorship, and how powerful forces would indeed like to put the muzzle on our freedom of speech. "Copyright law is so extreme, just singing somebody else's song in public could be infringement. Because Justin Bieber and his mother posted videos on youtube (which often included copyrighted backing recordings) to advance his music career, it's commercial infringement (which could land Justin Bieber in jail). ... (In the eyes of the music and movie companies), stricter copyright law = more $$. They liked when people paid $18 for their plastic discs rather than watching wonderful stuff made by people online. They tried to ban the VCR and they'd like to turn the internet into a movie store."
Make no mistake about it at all... there are powerful forces that know the internet is the last chance to save democracy and freedom, and they would like to do everything in their power to shut it down completely if they could. But they will do it incrementally, bit by bit, so the citizenry doesn't even realize what is going on. The RICH and the POWERFUL have 99% of the power, and they would like to keep it that way... (or actually, they would like all 100%).
I do not exaggerate in the slightest when I say that this is truly an epic battle between good and evil. Right now we are at a fork in the road of history, where humanity will decide if we continue our journey towards advancement, democratic ideals, and freedom, or we descend into the dark ages of censorship, corporate fascism, and greed.

Let's face it, kids...the American presidential election is coming up, and the good guys may not win this time (if there even are any good guys), BUT...there is no need to be upset.

As recent elections have shown us, the rich and powerful are often able to buy the politicians they want to place into power. So, how do the righteous achieve victory when they are so vastly outfunded....?
